Jafe premiers new track "Losing Game"
The multi-hyphenate artist drops a banger
While Latinx music has received an increasing amount of mainstream buzz as of late, the songs that tend to break through are often of the Reggaeton and Latin Trap variety. Jafe, an Afro Latino artist, is well aware of this, and with tracks like his most recent hit "Losing Game", he is helping to introduce a variety of South American vibes to the world.
Every instrument you'll hear on Losing Game is played by Jafe himself, while Jony Kiembock added some nice percussion into the fold. Kiembock injected his Columbian roots to Losing Game, as they implemented a Colombian folkloric rhythm known as "Cumbia. Along with putting mainstream America onto his cultural sound, Jafe also lays down a solid message in the track, staying true to the positive energy that has become his calling card. "Just because things seem bleak at the moment, doesn’t mean we give up," He says. "Even when the odds are stacked against you, there is still so much to be grateful and hopeful for.”
