Kayla Brianna is on the cusp of GREATNESS
The multi faceted artist is creating her own wave
As a musician, finding the time to be inspired in between touring, filming and performing is an underrated, yet integral element to continued success. Some are able to continuously recreate themselves and their sound, while others lose that spark and fizzle out after their first few projects. For the young soul artist known as Kayla Brianna though, finding that inspiration has never been difficult. It doesn't hurt though, that she doesn't have to look too far to find it. "I was inspired a lot by my family history," She says. "My father always made sure to instill in me a strong work ethic which I still carry with me every day." The family history she speaks of includes her dad, NBA Champion Kenny Smith, along with a Grandfather who wrote timeless hits such as “Locomotion” “Natural Woman” and “Saving All My Love For You.” Add in a grandmother who sang back up vocals for Ray Charles and it isn't hard to see where Kayla gets her artistic gifts from. With one fire EP down and another in the works though, Kayla is primed to soon become a legend in her own right.

Inspired by acts such as Brandy and Aaliyah, the Houston raised Kayla Brianna went on to craft her own sound, which draws from her personal experiences blended into enjoyable pop structures. The sound was dubbed as "Urban Pop" and was created by herself along with Super Producer London on da Track. "We worked in the studio for about a month in Atlanta and took our time with each track to make sure each song was tailor-made for me," She says. This style was one display on her self titled EP that she released in 2016 under her label KSEG. She went on to collaborate with artists such as Rich Homie Quan and Meek Mill and release a number of music videos which have collectively garnered over 6 million views on Youtube.

Along with a skyrocketing career as a musician, Kayla Brianna has also expanded her artistic range into fashion, television and film. "My sister and I have a clothing line called "K.M. Fem" which we love working on and our pieces can be found on our site: www.kmfem.com.," She says. "I’m currently in Mississippi filming a movie and will be appearing on "This Is Us" this season!" Between the movies and award winning shows that Kayla has in the works, she can be found on stage this month as she embarks on her tour with K Michelle. Throughout all her endeavors though, she has one major goal: Inspire. "The most rewarding thing is making my parents proud and inspiring people with my talent and creativity," She says. We're sure the best is yet to come for her promising career. When it's all said and done and urban pop is adored by the masses, the next generation will have Kayla Brianna to thank.
