Cardozo's Marcus Hammond commits! D1 BOUND
The south paw is a Purple Eagle
Before the year, we interviewed Marcus Hammond to get his thoughts and expectations on the season ahead. After running the point in what was considered a down season by Cardozo's standards, Hammond promised us a better year both personally and team wise this year. Months later, he's delivered. The smooth shooting lefty has improved in almost every facet of his game and he's grown a few inches as well. The result? A Cardozo team that is undefeated in Queens and sits firmly among the best in the city, and for him, a D1 scholarship.Hammond's committed to the Niagara Purple Eagles where he'll contribute with his heady floor vision and deep range. The senior is currently averaging 14 points and six dimes a game for Cardozo and has already knocked in 40 threes on the year. As his squad makes a push for another city championship, he can now breathe easy as his decision is taken care of. Expect the late bloomer to only get better as his college career progresses.
