A Trip Upstate - Photoseries
Upstate New York holds a special place in my heart. It's something about that blend of nature, and quaint, artsy towns that does it for both my wife and I. Beacon New York is undoubtedly our home base because of its many museums, galleries, pop-up shops, hiking trails, restaurants etc.
This time around, we decided to go in the middle of the week to celebrate my 32nd birthday. We put nothing on the itinerary, and our intention was to go wherever the wind blew us. What resulted was another restful, restorative trip that also took us to a few other towns -- Cold Spring and Nyack.
Check out some photos below. Also, here's a power ranking of some of our favorite upstate towns:
1. Beacon - The GOAT. Go during the bonfire festival and thank me later
2. Saratoga Springs - More to do and see than Beacon, but lacks the small-town charm
3. Kingston - Some really great shops here
4. Woodstock - A great music scene and film festival. Stay at Woodstock Way hotel. OMG!
5. Cold Spring - The best antique shops we've been to have been here
6. Nyack - A nice Main Street, right on the water!
