It's that time of the year y'all. Giving Tuesday is upon us and we're already in the holiday spirit around these parts. As someone who works at a nonprofit, I know firsthand that these next few weeks are a crucial time to launch and execute fundraising campaigns to secure some much needed funding. In typical Gritty Vibes fashion, we're sharing with you a few of our favorite nonprofits to donate to. Each of these organizations are either black led, or they do work that directly impacts the community black community.Let's start with Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, where I work as the Director of Marketing. Located in the heart of Jamaica Queens NYC, this org was born out of a community-driven effort to situate arts and culture at the center of the revitalizing Jamaica neighborhood. JCAL inspires youth to pursue an interest in the arts, showcases emerging artists and performers, and has delivered multidisciplinary, multicultural programs to more than three generations in Queens. The Africa Center in Harlem

The Swaliga Foundation

Additional information Global Arts Organization that emphasizes positivity, individuality, and the preservation of the arts.The Swaliga Foundation launched a charitable giving challenge during the month of November in honor of #GivingTuesday for businesses and non-profit organizations to invest and advocate for Swaliga STEAM Clubs. The Swaliga STEAM Clubs are an afterschool program that serves elementary, middle and high schools across the D.C. metropolitan area with a goal to expand Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning that will inspire young people to connect their passion to successful careers in STEAM globally. The STEAM Club will allow students to compete for prizes and scholarships using the skills they learned in the afterschool program.
Black Girls Code

Radical action is needed if we are to close the opportunity gap for Black women and girls. We lead a global movement to establish equal representation in the tech sector. Black Girls CODE is devoted to showing the world that Black girls can code and do so much more. Together, we are creating stronger economies and more equitable societies—ultimately realizing the true potential of democracy through diversity and inclusion.
Black Women’s Blueprint

BWB is in the unique position to harness the attention now being given to Black-led organizations to address structural and historical racism. We also have the opportunity to make explicit that gender justice must be at the foreground for change. The current moment has allowed us to expand our vision to create an entity that would contain the tremendous world-change and transformation we want to bring about.
A Better Jamaica

A Better Jamaica has sixteen program initiatives that range from film screenings, to literary initiatives, live music and more.
Arts Administrators of Color Network

We are advocates and continue to fight for equity in the arts through collaboration, forums, and outlets that provide a voice for arts administrators and artists of color where there may not be one.
Art + Practice

A+P supports LA transition-age foster youth through our collaboration with nonprofit social service provider First Place for Youth and provides Angelenos with free access to museum-curated contemporary art. Black Art Futures Fund

Organizations can be independent 501c3 organizations or entities with a fiscal sponsor in place for more than one calendar year.
Black Artists + Designers Guild
