Joe Cash drops a summer anthem with "Fly this Summer"

The Brooklyn Rapper drops a gem

A grill filled with BBQ is surrounded by day ones. Henny is poured, blunts are lit and good vibes are in the air. Despite everything going on in the world, Brooklyn rapper Joe Cash's latest single "Fly This Summer" gives us the vibe that many of us have missed out on all season. The track's feel good nature resurrects a feeling from the 90s, which Joe let us know was no coincidence. "I heard the instrumental to 'Can I kick it',"  He says. "I had heard the song before but never listened to Tribe called Quest's music in depth. So I tuned in and was inspired like damn they was cool as shit. I looked up Tribe called Quest type beat and the words came to me."Brooklyn Rapper

In "Fly this Summer", the NYC rapper embraces the simple things with lines like: "How they gon tell me what it is that a black guy needs? Laptop and a mic I'm a peace". On the track's catchy hook though, Joe lets us know that while he is tryna get fly this summer....he's also hoping no one dies this summer. For many people growing up in the inner city, this hits home. "I feel like that’s how a lot of people feel where I’m from too," He says. "We look forward to the summer time after months of cold and being in the house. Summertime comes and you want to be outside enjoying yourself, but then the bullshit comes. I feel like even the dudes doing the killing and violence want to enjoy their summer too and don’t want nobody to die. A lot of them is hurt, hurting other people."

The single was blessed with a terrific visual by Logan Poe and will officially release on all platforms July 24th. For those interested in a full Joe Cash project, he's eyeing the fall/winter time to drop the follow up to his debut project 748. For now, "Fly this Summer", and it's chill vibes will have to do, and in a summer like 2020, it's much needed.
