It can take some artists years to build an audience, while for others it simply never happens. Taylor Belle however, has hit the ground running as the talented singer out of NY is already carving out a lane for herself artistically. Taylor began releasing new songs just over a year ago and has already given us a number of singles such as last years "Fucked up" which went crazy on Spotify. Her recently released track "Real Ones" examines the nature of her circle and the company she keeps. Taylor floats on the beat as she expresses that her aspirations cannot be deterred by any negative energy. We got a chance to ask her a few questions about her music and career, and the following is what went down. For more up and coming artists, new music, new songs and music to listen to, click here

1. Where are you from originally? How did your upbringing influence your sound?

I'm originally from Long Island but now I live in the city. When I was younger I actually didn't have a super defined sound, it was always about my love for singing and I think once I moved to the city and found myself as a person more, the development of my sound followed. My life experiences growing up definitely influenced my creative process and inspiration behind certain lyrics of mine though.

2. In just over a year since you officially started releasing music, you've built up a nice audience for yourself and your music. Is this a surprise to you or is it all in the plan?

I didn't go into it with specific expectations because I really do trust the process and knew that my music would receive the attention it deserves as long as I worked hard. So I'd have to say i'm not surprised i'm just extremely grateful it's happened so quickly.

3. Let's talk about your latest single "Real Ones". What was the inspiration behind it? Would you say you have a solid circle of real ones around you for this journey?

As I've gotten older I've definitely realized that people won't always have as pure of intentions as I do and you can't trust others too easily. So 'Real Ones' was inspired by certain situations I learned from where I saw peoples true colors. I'd say that the circle I have now is definitely made up of people who are 'Real Ones'. I've been blessed with amazing friends that I can call family.

4. What's been the most rewarding thing that you've experienced since you started putting out music?

The most rewarding feeling is hearing people sing along to my songs or come to me and tell me that my music has gotten them through a specific situation. My main goal with music is to not only express myself but create songs the listeners can identify with too so that always feels great.

5. What should we expect from you next?

Definitely expect to see more visual content, music videos, collaborations, and of course new music! I have a project dropping in the beginning of March!
